Viva Las Vegas And All That

Just in the middle of typing a big long update so this will tie you over. Uploaded a few hundred more photos. You should know where to check by now. Sarah’s gone and I’m very sad. Sally, I miss you. Had a deadly time in Vegas and may be heading back.

Trip to Vegas with Sal, Mo and Bren was absolutely amazing. After meeting with Bren and Mo in LA, we decided one morning to just book the feckin flight and head up. Someone just wanted to gamble while someone else wanted to take lots and lots of photos of wildlife.

Se we booked the flight. Myself and Sarah stayed in the Venetian, Mo and Bren stayed in the Bellagio. Read the full story

Happy 4th of July

The day kicked off when I arrived home to a beer bong breakfast and a game of beer pong and a massive feed on our brand spanking new BBQ. The revellers started arriving in the droves. I’d say half of SDSU were there! The banter continued on throughout the day. Dancing and eating. Eating and dancing. Fancy dress was about to begin so myself and Mark (Meeark!) began our preparation to become….. female.

Got a dress from Helena and Aiso, Helena and Michelle did our make-up. Creepy looking. As you can see from the photos. Some deadly costumes (Camel Toe Julie was the funniest). Banter went on until 9 PM when we all headed down the beach for the fireworks. Read the full story

Rave on Pacific Beach

(Really wish I had photos of this night.)  The Linda Vista crew hit the tavern and I was SUPPOSED to join them. Waited 2 hours for my cab and eventually had to ask Jenny to give me a lift to PB. The eve of the 4th of July is like getting a taxi on Christmas day. When I eventually arrived there the queue was too long and everyone was already inside. Read the full story

Grain-ie and her crew are hobos no longer.

OK, so our houseguests have moved out and we got invited to their housewarming party. Absolutely mental night. They covered their sitting room wall with wrapping paper and gave us all markers to sign. We’re going to do that for our 4th of July party so. Anyway, there was about a hundred people there and it was a savage night until the plumbing broke. When the upstairs toilet was flushed the downstairs one flooded the place. So at about 1 bell we headed to the beach. Didn’t bring a camera this time. Oh well. Read the full story

Angel White, A deadly night.

Last night, Jenny, Dee and Tiffiny invited me and Jon to a Charity event as guests on the VIP list. Had to wear all white as it was for some girl who died of cancer. Club was called “Belo” and was FANCY SCHMANCY! Jenny had some trouble getting in as her ID was her cousins and they are SOOOOOOO strict on ID over here. She called her friend and we got in. Ner a sign of any more problems… Read the full story

Tijuana, do ye Wanna?

So been another little while since I updated but been asleep and busy for the past few days. Recovering as it where. Wednesday night, we hit Tijuana, Mexico. Jon and Grainne couldn’t go because of Grainne’s passport being confiscated and because of Jon putting his through the wash, but the rest went and it was pretty much the experience of a lifetime…

Rather than go the traditional route, we decided to get a “Party Bus”. We squeezed 60 people onto a bus that we were allowed drink on and it had all the works, lights and rave on tunes to get us in the mood. Wednesday night is “Irish night” in TJ so it was pretty much 99% Irish and the journey down was savage (Word of the summer). Read the full story

Welcome to the house of fun

Right, now that we are just about settled and the housewarming parties have been had I can make a bit more of a detailed update.

So we have moved into our two houses and so too practically have our neighbors. We only have one bad neighbor and he’s the one who keeps calling the police. I have only had my name taken once because we take turns answering the door to the shades and they cannot come into the house.

So eventually, our second house is ready. You can see from the photo we have a pretty sweet setup. I am in the front house and the house directly behind it is our second house. The house to the left is empty and the house tot he right is our cool German neighborhoods. The house to the back left is our American frat/sorority (I don’t understand the whole thing) girls house where the coolest neighbours of fall time live. They are really like you see in college films. Jenny, Rachel and Dee are just fantastic. Read the full story

Barely there.

OK, So we have signed our lease on our first house and we are waiting on the stupid landlord to fit the carpet in the second house so everyone can move in. In the meantime, we have all “moved” from the hostel and officially moved into our house. The parties have not begun because the landlord is a weirdo and keeps walking right into the house at the strangest times. Basically, he thinks there are 3 people living in the house, but really there are now 17. We cannot keep hiding in the closet forever!

The house is pretty big but we are literally sleeping on top of each other. Drinking every night means you just take the first free spot you see. I am actually used to sleeping in a bed with people I don’t know now!

California, California, Here we are.

OK, now that I am here and a little more settled I can update this a bit. I’ll just give a brief rundown of what has happened so far.

First of all, the entire journey was 25 hours in total. Leaving Sarah was horrible and I really didn’t want to go. 🙁 When I got to London, I had a few drinks in the bar and a half hour before my flight (I like to board last) I realised I was in the wrong terminal. So I was running like a lunatic, had to get a bus and when I go to terminal 2 I could hear my name being called out and I knew my summer had begun. 🙂 Read the full story
